Description

Awareness training, safe working with dangerous goods basic training.

The basic safe handling of dangerous goods course is designed for anyone involved in the transportation of dangerous goods. This includes employees who prepare transport documents, fill packages, label and perform loading and unloading operations, etc. This is an abbreviated version of the full awareness training.

This training includes the regulations of ADR and IMDG-code in English. It also covers a little bit of PGS-15 and CLP labeling.

This training is based on Chapter 1.3 of the ADR and IMDG-code.

This chapter provides that “Persons employed by those concerned in accordance with Chapter 1.4 whose duties involve the transportation of dangerous goods shall be trained as appropriate to the requirements of the transportation of dangerous goods for their responsibilities and duties. Employees must be trained before assuming responsibilities and may perform functions only under the direct supervision of a trained person.”

Ordering a course

When ordering the course as a group leader, you can choose whether you also want to take the course yourself. If you select “Enrol me”, you will be added to the group as a student and one licence will be used. You can then take the course yourself. If you do not select this option, you will only be registered as the group leader. You can view the students’ progress and results, but you cannot take the course yourself. Next, enter the required number of licences and a name for the group. Click “Add to basket” and complete your order.

 

Enrolling students

Open the Group Management page and select the group to which you want to add students. Then click the blue “Enrol new students” button. Enter each student’s first name, last name and email address. To enrol multiple students at once, click “Add more students” to add additional input fields. After entering the details, click “Submit”. One licence is used for each student who is successfully enrolled. The number of remaining licences is displayed at the top of the Group Management page, directly below the group name. The students automatically receive an email containing their login details and can then start the course using their own account.

 

Certificates

After completing the course and achieving a passing score on the final exam, the student receives a personal certificate. Passing is guaranteed. If the student does not achieve a passing score, the final exam can be reset and taken again. This can be repeated until a passing score is achieved. The certificate can be viewed and downloaded from the account. It is also sent by email to both the student and the group leader.
